Doorwall/Window Replacement

Weathervane Windows of Brighton, Michigan manufactured the unit windows. Unfortunately they have gone out of business. Therefore, we no longer have a manufacturers window guarantee.

The Association will continue to repair and/or replace windows that are defective.

Co-owners wishing to upgrade their window/door walls must obtain Board approval by submitting a request before making any replacements. All windows in a unit need not be replaced.

The replacement windows must be similar in exterior appearance to the present window and must be professionally installed and carry a minimum 10 year warranty. All costs of the windows and installation will be at the co-owner’s expense.

The co-owner will assume liability for normal maintenance, repair and replacement of such windows. In case of a disaster, the co-owner will pay the excess over the cost of replacement of the original windows.

This liability will be passed on to any subsequent co-owner of the unit. The co-owner will inform the new resident, in writing, of this liability at the time of transfer of ownership and will provide the Management Company with a copy of this document.
